One inbox, read by the people who actually write the pages. No call centre, no live chat — but a sourced correction is always checked.

The most useful email you can send us is not a question — it is a correction. Patagonian fees, opening windows and operator schedules move constantly, and a page that carries a stale figure is worse than a page that carries none. If you know that something on this site is out of date, you are doing us and every other reader a favour by saying so.

Put the page name in the subject line — for example “Error: Day trips from Puerto Natales — park fee”. It routes faster and we can find the page immediately.

We read everything that arrives. Reply times vary with volume, and we do not operate a support desk — but a specific, sourced correction is the one kind of message that always gets checked against the primary source. Please write in English or Spanish.

What to send, and what happens next

Being specific is the whole game. “This is wrong” cannot be acted on; a page URL plus the sentence plus a source can be checked the same day.
ReasonWhat to includeWhat we do
A factual error The page URL, the exact sentence, what you believe is correct, and a source if you have one. Re-check against the primary source. If it holds, we correct the page and move its reviewed date.
A fee, ticket or schedule change The page URL and the current official figure or window, with the official page you read it on. Update our dated snapshot and its as-of label, or replace the figure with a range if sources now disagree.
A tour that no longer runs The page URL and the product name. Re-verify the link. Replace it with a product that does run, or drop the recommendation entirely.
Two sources you think we mixed up Both sources and what each says. If the conflict is real, we publish the disagreement in the table caption instead of picking a side.
A question about your own trip Your dates, your base town, and what you want to fit into one day. We answer if the answer does not depend on live conditions. We do not plan or book trips for individual readers.
Press, licensing, a data request What you need and by when. We reply if there is a genuine fit. We do not sell placement or accept sponsored content.

What we cannot help with

Redirecting you quickly is more useful than a slow no. These come up constantly and none of them can be solved from this site:

  • Booking, changing, or cancelling a tour. That is the operator or GetYourGuide, whichever you paid. Your confirmation email names them.
  • Getting a refund. Same answer — we never hold your money or your reservation.
  • Visa, passport or border-entry decisions. Rules depend on your nationality and change without notice. Ask the embassy or consulate of the country you are entering, not a travel blog.
  • Live conditions. Whether the pass is open today, what the wind is doing tomorrow, whether a trail was closed this morning. Check the park authority and your operator on the day.
  • Travel medical or insurance advice. Read the policy you bought, and check it actually covers the activity you have planned — helicopter evacuation from a Patagonian pass is not a standard inclusion.
  • Personalised itinerary planning. See the FAQ above: the stable questions are answered on the pages, the live ones belong to your operator.

How a correction actually gets processed

So you know what happens after you hit send:

  1. We reproduce the claim from the page. No working from memory — we open the page and quote the sentence.
  2. We go to the primary source. The park authority (CONAF in Chile, APN in Argentina), a national or provincial tourism body, or the operator’s own published timetable. Not another blog that may have copied the same mistake.
  3. We publish the change and move the reviewed date. The page’s byline date updates, so anyone reading later can see the page was checked after the change you reported.
  4. If we cannot resolve it, we say so on the page. Where two credible sources genuinely disagree, the page carries both figures and names the disagreement rather than quietly choosing one.

The site has already been corrected this way twice: a claim that El Chaltén’s trails carried no park fee, and a penguin-colony figure with no reliable survey behind it. Both were catchable only because the pages published a date. See the about page for the full set of sourcing rules we hold ourselves to.

Frequently asked

Can you book, change or cancel a tour for me?

No. We are not a booking agent and we do not hold your reservation. Bookings are made on GetYourGuide and run by a local operator; changes, date moves and refunds have to go through whichever of those you paid. The confirmation email for your booking will name them.

How do I get a factual error corrected?

Send the page URL, the exact sentence you believe is wrong, what you think is correct, and a source if you have one — ideally the park authority, a tourism board or the operator’s own timetable. We check it against the primary source and, if it holds, change the page and move its reviewed date.

A tour on your site no longer runs. What should I send?

The page URL and the product name is enough. We re-verify the product link and either replace it with one that does run or remove the recommendation, then update the page.

Do you accept paid placement or sponsored posts?

No. We do not sell positions in lists, take payment for a recommendation, or publish sponsored content. Operator pitches asking for a favourable mention will not be answered. The only commercial arrangement on this site is affiliate commission, explained on the about page.

Do you give personalised itineraries?

Not as a service. We do not plan trips for individual readers, and we cannot answer questions that depend on live conditions — weather, road state, whether a specific operator has space next Tuesday. The pages are designed to answer the stable questions; the operator or the park authority answers the live ones.

Patagonia Day Trips is an independent publisher and may earn a commission from bookings made through partner links, at no extra cost to you. We are not a tour operator or booking agent. Editorial enquiries: editorial@patagoniadaytrips.com.
